Vietnam Bespoke Suits for US Executives: Market Size, Prices and Deal Flow — October 2026

Vietnam Bespoke Suits for US Executives: Market Size, Prices and Deal Flow

Research cutoff: October 19, 2026Scope: US-based executives personally commissioning business suits from Vietnamese tailoring businesses, including travel-based, remote and overseas-supported purchases.

What does the evidence say before a buyer pays a deposit?

Vietnam offers a wide spread of advertised custom-suit prices, but this research did not establish a measured market size or growth rate for genuinely bespoke executive suits purchased by US residents. The strongest public evidence concerns visitor arrivals, merchandise trade, suppliers’ advertised prices and individual business announcements—not completed executive commissions or independently verified fitting outcomes.

Four findings matter most:

  • The potential travel-based customer pool is expanding. Vietnam recorded 746,158 US-market arrivals in January–September 2026, up 19.9% year over year. These are arrivals, not identified executive buyers or suit purchases. (vietnamtourism.gov.vn)
  • A low advertised price does not identify the production process. Reviewed offers range from Tailor Thu 506’s VND 2.8 million–3 million standard suit to Mon Amie’s premium cloth tier extending to VND 60 million. These are different supplier offers, not a like-for-like bespoke price distribution. (tailorthu506.com)
  • Recent activity includes both expansion and operational change. Nhut announced a Hanoi opening for May 15, 2026; TIE MEN ended its partnership at a former Da Nang location effective October 15, 2026, with a replacement showroom anticipated—not confirmed open—in early November. (nhuttailor.com)
  • Shipping and baggage need different cost assumptions. The former low-value shipment exemption must not be confused with the conditional personal exemption for accompanied purchases. (govinfo.gov)

Buyer conclusion: use market data to establish a realistic comparison budget and identify questions. Do not use tourism growth, workshop size or an attractive opening price as proof that a particular commission will fit.

What exactly is being measured?

For this desk, bespoke qualification requires individual pattern development and a fitting-led process allowing substantive changes to posture, balance and silhouette. This is our research classification rule, not a claim that every supplier using “bespoke” meets it. Full-canvas wording alone does not satisfy that rule.

We keep four evidence categories separate:

Evidence category What it can establish What it cannot establish
Official tourism and trade statistics The size and movement of an adjacent activity Executive-suit spending, conversion or fitting success
Supplier price and service pages What the business publicly advertises Actual transaction prices or independently verified execution
Dated operator announcements An announced opening, change or service arrangement Incremental revenue, profitability or successful completion of every plan
Analyst calculations Consequences of explicit assumptions Observed market size or a probability-weighted forecast

Prices were checked against public pages on October 19, 2026. An undated page is a dated observation of an offer—not evidence that the price was newly introduced that day. Job boards, video and podcast results were also screened for leads; they were not treated as audited sales or demand measurements.

How large is the market—and which numbers are actually usable?

No public series located in this review isolates US-resident executives buying Vietnam-made, individually patterned business suits. The available statistics describe adjacent markets with different boundaries.

What do the official demand and industry indicators show?

Indicator Figure and measurement period Source and date Correct interpretation
US-market arrivals in Vietnam Approximately 849,000, full-year 2025 Vietnamese Government News, published January 6, 2026. (en.baochinhphu.vn) A travel-access indicator; not unique executives, suit buyers or US-resident households
US-market arrivals in Vietnam 746,158, January–September 2026; +19.9% YoY VNAT’s September/first-nine-months table, checked October 19, 2026. (vietnamtourism.gov.vn) The most directly relevant current demand-adjacent indicator retrieved
All international arrivals in Vietnam 17,680,714, January–September 2026; +14.5% YoY Same VNAT table. (vietnamtourism.gov.vn) Broader visitor activity; not the US executive opportunity
Vietnam textile and apparel exports US$44.2 billion in 2025; approximately +5% YoY USDA report dated April 13, 2026, citing Vietnam Customs. Its scope includes yarn and technical fabrics. (apps.fas.usda.gov) Industrial supply-chain context, not bespoke retail revenue

These figures are not additive. Arrivals measure travel events; exports measure merchandise value. Neither provides a defensible percentage that can simply be assigned to executive bespoke tailoring.

What do suit-specific trade volumes show?

A narrower—but still non-bespoke—benchmark is HS 620311: men’s or boys’ suits of wool or fine animal hair.

US-reported imports, calendar 2024 Customs trade value Reported quantity
From all countries US$243.47 million 1,477,210 items
From Vietnam US$2.80 million 49,929 items

Source: World Bank WITS/UN Comtrade, checked October 19, 2026. This is the complete 2024 table retrieved for this report, not a claim that 2024 is the latest available US customs release. (wits.worldbank.org)

The Vietnam figures imply approximately US$56 per reported item, calculated from the source’s unrounded values. That is a customs unit value—not an executive’s retail purchase price. The category does not identify bespoke production, buyer occupation or fitting arrangements, and it excludes other fiber categories and separately classified garments. It therefore cannot establish this desk’s market size. (wits.worldbank.org)

Can the desk construct a transparent market-sizing scenario?

Yes—but it should publish the exercise as sensitivity analysis, not as a measured market estimate. The missing variable is not visitor volume; it is the proportion of eligible visits that produce an in-scope purchase, together with spending per purchase and remote demand.

The following illustration uses the government’s rounded 2025 US-market arrival base of 849,000. It deliberately does not annualize partial-year 2026 arrivals. (en.baochinhphu.vn)

Illustrative travel-channel spending = arrival events × assumed in-scope purchase incidence × assumed suit spending per purchasing event.

Sensitivity test—not a forecast Assumed purchase incidence Implied purchasing events Assumed suit spending per event Implied garment spending
A 0.1% 849 US$1,500 US$1.27 million
B 0.5% 4,245 US$1,500 US$6.37 million
C 1.0% 8,490 US$1,500 US$12.74 million

Source and calculation date: desk calculations, October 19, 2026. The arrival base is sourced; all purchase-incidence and spending assumptions are analyst-selected and unvalidated. No row is designated a central estimate, and the endpoints are not a confidence interval. (en.baochinhphu.vn)

Important limitations:

  • The arrival category is not a verified count of US-resident executives.
  • Purchasing events are not unique annual customers; repeat visits require deduplication.
  • Spending per event could include more than one suit, so the table does not estimate suit units.
  • The illustration excludes independently originated remote orders and does not measure the genuinely bespoke share.
  • A suit commissioned during a visit and shipped afterward must not be counted again as a separate remote sale.
  • Garment spending is separate from shipping, import charges, alterations, travel and research fees.

Research decision: do not adopt the supplied brief’s market-size or growth ranges as established findings. A usable estimate needs supplier order records, verified customer geography and a consistent production-process definition.

Is Vietnamese executive tailoring growing?

The public evidence supports growth in relevant travel exposure, not a quantified growth rate for executive tailoring. The latest retrieved VNAT table reports stronger US-market arrivals, but does not report the proportion purchasing suits, their average expenditure or their occupation. (vietnamtourism.gov.vn)

Broader apparel performance also should not be substituted for bespoke demand. USDA reported US$6.4 billion of textile and apparel exports in January–February 2026, essentially unchanged year over year, and described input-cost, shipping and tariff uncertainty. That is an early-year industrial indicator, not a full-year 2026 tailoring result. (apps.fas.usda.gov)

For future measurement, decompose revenue movement into:

  1. Number of genuinely eligible customers.
  2. Conversion from enquiry to paid pilot commission.
  3. Suits purchased per customer.
  4. Realized price and cloth/construction mix.
  5. Repeat purchasing, cancellations and refunds.

An increase in enquiries or showroom count can coexist with flat completed-order revenue. No defensible niche CAGR was established in this review.

What is known about workshop scale and production volumes?

Current public capacity evidence is thinner than supplier marketing suggests. Workforce counts, historical production caps and current US executive orders are different measurements.

Public scale signal Figure and date Evidence status Buyer interpretation
Yaly Couture artisan workforce 300 artisans, undated company page checked October 19, 2026 Supplier-stated; not independently audited. (yalycouture.com) Indicates an advertised production organization, not the number of bespoke cutters or US business suits completed
SIR historical bespoke production limit 35–40 suits per month, reported in a founder interview published September 13, 2019 Historical management statement. (cafef.vn) Not a current capacity estimate or a count of US orders
SIR historical company revenue VND 17.5 billion for 2018, reported in the same 2019 article Historical reported company revenue; no audited segment breakdown supplied. (cafef.vn) Cannot be attributed entirely to executive bespoke suits or projected forward without new evidence

We did not establish current annual US executive commission volumes, repeat-order rates, remake rates or cutter utilization for the reviewed businesses.

Before choosing a supplier for a repeat wardrobe, request recent evidence for the actual team that will handle the order: comparable business-suit commissions, available fitting appointments and the person responsible for approving corrections. Do not convert a workforce claim into an assumed delivery capacity.

How much does a custom or bespoke suit cost in Vietnam in October 2026?

Published prices support a broad quotation comparison, not an average price for verified bespoke. The table below records supplier offers without certifying their cloth provenance, pattern-making or fitting execution.

For comparison only, VND prices are approximately converted using VND 26,300 per US dollar, the reference rate stated in Mon Amie’s October 2026 guide. This is not an independently obtained spot FX quotation; dollar equivalents are rounded. (monamie.vn)

What prices do suppliers actually publish?

All pages checked October 19, 2026; garment prices only unless stated otherwise.

Supplier and advertised offer Published VND price Approximate US-dollar guide Specification and evidence limits
Tailor Thu 506 — standard suit 2.8m–3m About US$110 Supplier describes domestic wool-blend cloth; 2026 price-guide page. No independent bespoke qualification. (tailorthu506.com)
Tailor Thu 506 — premium suit 4.8m–5.2m US$180–US$200 Supplier describes imported wool, linen or silk-blend options; exact cloth and construction need a quote. (tailorthu506.com)
Mon Amie — published tiers Essential 4.8m–10m; Signature 10m–20m; Heritage above 20m, extending to 60m US$180–US$380; US$380–US$760; above US$760 to about US$2,280 Supplier-stated cloth tiers; listed prices exclude 8% VAT. Pattern and fitting commitments require separate confirmation. (monamie.vn)
SIR Tailor — homepage starting offers 7.9m with Asian cloth; 16.9m with Italian cloth About US$300+; US$640+ Homepage describes full canvas as standard. Other official-page prices differ; obtain a reconciled quotation. (sirtailor.com)
Thomas Nguyen — VBC two-piece example 24m About US$910 Article displays a latest date of July 21, 2026. This is an advertised named-cloth example, not independently authenticated cloth or a transaction average. (thomasnguyentailor.com)

Why do some official prices still need reconciliation?

A supplier’s own pages can disagree. SIR’s homepage prices above differ from its policy page, which includes a VND 12 million suit starting price and a separate VND 12.9 million European-cloth reference. The reviewed pages do not establish a clean chronology explaining these differences. They should not be presented as evidence of price inflation. (sirtailor.com)

Thomas Nguyen’s VBC example also carries a US$1,000 label beside VND 24 million. This report preserves the VND amount and applies its disclosed comparison convention rather than treating the page’s dollar label as a current executable exchange rate. (thomasnguyentailor.com)

Ask the supplier to identify the controlling currency, quote validity, tax treatment and included specifications in writing.

What should an executive infer from these ranges?

Our recommendation is to compare specified offers, not broad labels such as “tourist tailor,” “luxury atelier” or “premium bespoke.” A useful quotation should separately identify:

  • Jacket and trouser configuration, including any additional trousers.
  • Cloth merchant, bunch/reference, composition and weight.
  • Individual-pattern or adjusted-base-pattern process.
  • Internal construction.
  • Intermediate and final fitting stages.
  • Shipping, tax, payment fees and correction commitments.

The evidence does not establish that a higher price automatically buys more structural fitting access, nor that a low-priced offer necessarily uses a particular construction method.

Is Vietnam cheaper than US custom tailoring?

Sometimes on the advertised garment price; the evidence does not establish a universal like-for-like saving. US-facing custom services provide relevant alternatives even when production occurs elsewhere.

US-facing comparator Published price evidence Date and comparison limits
Hall Madden Overview says best sellers are US$1,500–US$2,000, with opening options at US$1,050+ Undated page checked October 19, 2026; supplier-stated selling range, not a market average. (hallmadden.com)
Bespoke by CB, Miami Custom suits/tuxedos from US$1,299; pricing transcript describes many suit customers at US$1,500–US$2,200 Page marked updated June 2026; supplier claims require commission-level verification. (bespokecb.com)

Hall Madden’s FAQ separately lists a US$1,100 half-canvas starter and US$1,425+ full-canvas custom suit. This is another reason to request a current written quote rather than select whichever website figure creates the largest apparent overseas saving. (hallmadden.com)

Also verify country of production at the product level. Proper Cloth’s shipping page says its shirts and casual pants ship from Vietnam, while suits, jackets and dress pants are made to order and ship from Thailand. A brand’s Vietnam manufacturing connection does not establish Vietnamese suit production or a partnership with a Vietnamese bespoke workshop. (propercloth.com)

What recent deals, openings and channel activity are substantiated?

The strongest in-scope findings are operational announcements, not disclosed acquisitions or financing rounds. The recent-activity window is October 19, 2025–October 19, 2026; undated services are identified as current observations rather than newly launched businesses.

Date/status Operator and activity Disclosed economics or volume What a buyer should do
May 15, 2026 — announced opening Nhut Tailor: official announcement identifies a Hanoi showroom opening on this date Reviewed announcement does not disclose investment, revenue or order count. (nhuttailor.com) Confirm the current address, responsible cutter and whether the required fitting stages are conducted in Hanoi
October 15, 2026 — operational change TIE MEN: concluded its business partnership at the former 2 Le Thanh Ton Street, Da Nang location No transaction consideration disclosed on the reviewed notice. Replacement showroom anticipated in early November 2026, with address/opening date to follow. (tiemen.vn) Treat November as a future plan; obtain written appointment-location and existing-order responsibility confirmations
Observed October 19, 2026; launch date not established WAS Concept: advertises measurement in Ho Chi Minh City and collection/support in Singapore; Malaysia and Taiwan outlets described as forthcoming No launch investment, channel sales or opening dates disclosed. (wasconcepttailor.com) A regional cross-border service lead—not evidence of a US fitting network
Observed October 19, 2026; launch date not established VMan: markets remote consultation, video-guided measurement and worldwide delivery within 15–25 days, including shipping Supplier service promise; no independently established completion rate or US order volume. (vmantailorbespokesuit.com) Ask how structural fit problems are assessed and corrected after delivery; worldwide shipping is not local fitting support

No in-scope acquisition, equity financing or disclosed US executive order book was substantiated in the reviewed material. This is a search limitation—not proof that no private transactions occurred. Broader textile-factory investments should not be inserted into this niche’s deal flow merely because they concern Vietnamese garments.

How much of the apparent saving can delivery and corrections consume?

Calculate the remaining cost headroom, not just the difference between garment prices. The model below is an illustration prepared on October 19, 2026, not a supplier quotation, observed average bill or tariff estimate.

Illustrative one-suit comparison

Cash-cost component Assumed amount
Vietnamese garment quote, assumed to include applicable local tax US$1,000
Separate fitting/service fee US$100
Shipping US$80
Payment and FX charges US$30
Buyer-selected US alteration allowance US$150
Incremental travel US$0
US import duties, taxes and clearance charges D — unresolved
Vietnam option: modeled delivered cost US$1,360 + D
Assumed comparable US option, all-in cash quote US$1,800
Remaining cost advantage before additional problems US$440 − D

Source: analyst-selected assumptions and arithmetic, October 19, 2026. None of the fee allowances is a measured niche average, and the domestic option must genuinely match the buyer’s requirements before the comparison is meaningful.

Two stress tests make the decision clearer:

  • One additional US$400 correction: modeled overseas cost becomes US$1,760 + D. It exceeds the assumed domestic alternative when unresolved import charges exceed US$40.
  • US$500 of additional travel instead: modeled overseas cost becomes US$1,860 + D, already above the domestic alternative before import charges.

These are scenarios, not estimated failure probabilities. Keep executive time in a separate column and do not charge the entire cost of an already-planned business trip to the suit.

Recommended purchasing discipline: commission a pilot before authorizing several garments. Treat a package discount as a reduction in price—not as evidence that the fitting risk has been resolved.

What US import treatment must be checked now?

A shipped suit should not be budgeted as duty-free simply because its value is below US$800. CBP rules effective June 24, 2026 implemented indefinite suspension of the de minimis exemption for non-postal and postal merchandise shipments. (govinfo.gov)

A separate CBP proposal scheduled for publication on October 8, 2026 describes those June suspensions as existing measures. Its proposed changes should not themselves be treated as final rules. (public-inspection.federalregister.gov)

Accompanied purchases are a separate question. CBP’s personal-exemption guidance, dated February 27, 2026, says the exemption is generally US$800, subject to conditions including declaration, personal/household use, accompaniment, generally at least 48 hours abroad and the relevant 30-day restriction. Goods sent later generally cannot be included in that accompanied US$800 allowance. (help.cbp.gov)

Before payment, request a shipment-specific calculation identifying:

  • The classification and declared value used.
  • Country of origin and intended entry date.
  • Applicable duties, taxes and carrier/broker fees.
  • Whether the quoted delivery price includes these charges.
  • Who pays return-shipping and re-entry costs if corrections are needed.

This review does not establish one universal all-in duty percentage for a Vietnam-made suit. Keep D unresolved until documented; do not quietly replace it with zero.

What should the buyer do with this research?

Use it to narrow the financial and scheduling questions—not to select a “best tailor” by price.

Before accepting a fitting schedule

SIR’s current homepage describes 21–30 days for an in-stock full-canvas jacket with at least two fittings, plus 5–10 days if cloth must be imported; it also advertises a conditional one-week express service. Those are supplier-specific promises, not a universal Vietnamese tailoring timetable. Match the actual service tier to the itinerary. (sirtailor.com)

Before paying a deposit

  • [ ] Obtain a written quotation in the controlling currency.
  • [ ] Reconcile conflicting website prices and specify tax treatment.
  • [ ] Identify who measures, cuts, makes and corrects.
  • [ ] Document the pattern process and the intermediate fitting stages.
  • [ ] Confirm the exact cloth and substitution-approval rule.
  • [ ] Separate garment price from delivered cash cost and executive time.
  • [ ] Verify the appointment location, especially where a move is announced.
  • [ ] Agree correction, remake and return-shipping responsibilities.
  • [ ] Delay wardrobe expansion until the pilot has been assessed.

What data would materially improve the next market update?

The highest-value additions are anonymized completed-order records—not more generic price guides. A supplier panel should record customer residence, business versus occasion use, production process, suits per order, realized garment revenue, fitting route, delivery time, repeat purchases and corrections.

Bottom line: the public evidence establishes active supply, a growing travel-adjacent opportunity and a wide range of advertised prices. It does not yet establish the niche’s total spending, growth rate or average wearable-suit savings. For an executive buyer, the useful transaction is a documented commission with an accountable fitting route—not merely a discounted suit.

FAQs

How big is the market for US executives buying bespoke suits from Vietnam?

This research did not establish a measured annual market value for that specific segment. Vietnam’s approximately 849,000 US-market arrivals in 2025 are a useful travel indicator, but they are not a count of executive customers or bespoke purchases. (en.baochinhphu.vn)

How much should I budget for a Vietnamese executive suit?

Obtain a specification-matched quote rather than rely on a national average: SIR’s homepage advertises suits from VND 7.9 million with Asian cloth and VND 16.9 million with Italian cloth, while Thomas Nguyen publishes a VND 24 million VBC two-piece example. These pages were checked October 19, 2026; they do not establish a market-wide price for independently verified bespoke. (sirtailor.com)

Is demand for Vietnamese bespoke suits growing?

US-market arrivals in Vietnam increased 19.9% year over year in January–September 2026, which expands a relevant potential customer pool. The source does not measure suit purchasing, and this review did not establish a bespoke-sales growth rate or CAGR. (vietnamtourism.gov.vn)

Is a Vietnam suit cheaper than US made-to-measure or custom tailoring?

It can be cheaper at the garment-price stage, but the answer depends on equivalent specifications and delivered cost. Hall Madden advertises best-selling custom suits at US$1,500–US$2,000; compare a written domestic quote with the overseas garment, fitting, shipping, import, alteration and incremental-travel total. (hallmadden.com)

Can I assume a suit shipped from Vietnam is duty-free below US$800?

No: CBP’s June 24, 2026 rules implemented indefinite suspension of the low-value de minimis exemption for postal and non-postal merchandise shipments. The separate personal exemption for accompanied purchases has its own conditions and should not be applied to an ordinary shipped order. (govinfo.gov)

How much time should I allow for fittings in Vietnam?

Use the chosen supplier’s written schedule rather than a universal minimum. For example, SIR advertises 21–30 days for an in-stock full-canvas jacket with at least two fittings, while its one-week express offer is conditional; these are supplier promises, not independently measured completion times. (sirtailor.com)

Does worldwide shipping mean a Vietnamese tailor has US fitting support?

No: VMan’s remote service describes video-guided measurement and worldwide delivery, while WAS Concept describes support across Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore. Neither reviewed page establishes a US fitting partner responsible for intermediate fittings or post-delivery corrections. (vmantailorbespokesuit.com)

What recent tailoring activity should a Vietnam-travelling executive check?

Nhut announced a Hanoi showroom opening for May 15, 2026, while TIE MEN ended its partnership at a former Da Nang location effective October 15, 2026. As of this report’s October 19 cutoff, TIE MEN’s replacement showroom was anticipated for early November—not confirmed open—so obtain current location and appointment confirmation. (nhuttailor.com)
